Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak hinted at recruiting trained teachers for the all Mosques in the province. He directed the Auqaf Department to collect the exact data of all Mosques throughout the province so that the government could see to the actual requirement and provide salaried and trained teachers to all the Mosques in phases.
KP CM said his government was also contemplating to set up cultural hubs at all divisional level throughout the province. He was talking to the participants of a presentation at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. Ihsan Ghani, National Coordinator NACTA made a presentation highlighting steps required for the uprooting of extremism and the role of the provinces.
Acting Chief Secretary Azam Khan, IGP Salahuddin Mehsud, administrative secretaries Home, Law, Elementary and Secondary Education, Higher education, Local Government, Auqaf, Information, Culture, IG Prisons attended.
The presentation focused on education and other sectors enabling the youth to contribute the overall image boosting of Pakistan, changing the outlook and wrong perceptions imbibing in them the true spirit of nationhood.
The Chief Minister informed the participants about his government's efforts coupled with the on ground struggle of the armed forces leading to sharp reduction in the extremism, terrorism related activities and a visible decline in crime graph in the province. He said that extreme tendencies could be tackled through different interventions that included reforming the education sector, reducing poverty, providing jobs to the jobless, discouraging selective justice and reducing the trust deficits between the rulers and ruled.
Pervez Khattak was more concern with the wrong perception espoused about his province, comparing the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with other provinces and terming it better than the rest but still there are safeguards and filters that obstruct the investors coming to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the federal government normally does not issue NOC to the foreign investors visiting the province to convert the MoUs with his government into agreements that is totally unjustified treatment to the province and by doing so this reinforces the wrong perceptions, he added.
Chief Minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be flooded by foreign investment in the backdrop of CPEC as our province was the most attractive destination for investors. It is unfortunate that investors were obstructed by a lobby and even the federal government did not issue NOC to foreign investors. We are part of Pakistan but by restricting the NOC to the investors there were fears of cultivating apprehensions that this province was willfully ignored.
Pervez Khattak appreciated the provincial police for its dynamism especially for the setting up of tourist's police that encouraged the local tourists to visit Hazara, Malakand and Swat valley. He said that the existing system was creating three different classes socially, ideologically and economically isolated from one another. He said his government has taken step for introducing English from the very basic of education adding that it was his government which made Quran along with translation compulsory up to higher secondary level.
KP CM said his government was for a uniform syllabus and has already put the foundation adding that education was the baseline for development. He assured to upgrade the standard of all educational institutions both of public and private sectors. He told the participants that we have to take small steps required for cohesion, nationhood and magnanimity; our country needed more proactive role from the decision-makers today than before, he concluded.
