The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday returned the passport of former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain after the Supreme Court allowed him to travel abroad for treatment. The Supreme Court had last month ordered removal of the name of Dr Asim from the Exit Control List (ECL) for one month. The apex court had also ordered Sindh High Court to return Dr Asim's passport as it allowed the former petroleum minister to fly out of the country for medical treatment.
The apex court had ordered Dr Asim to deposit a surety of Rs 6 million as surety. The SC said that NAB's treatment of Dr Asim compared to other suspects was different.
