Bargad Organization for Youth Development organized an Eid festivity event, called "Eid for All" with members of religious minorities at Youhana Abad, Lahore. More than 300 people including minority representatives, parliamentarians, civil society members and media persons attended the festivity. The event comprised of an inauguration session, formal discussion on Transforming Communities for Peaceful Coexistence in Pakistan and distribution of Eid Gift Packs among minority children.
Ms Sunila Ruth, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Punjab joined the festivity as Chief Guest. She said at this occasion that joint social celebrations and festivals provide a chance to recall and practice the inclusiveness of all segments of the society, so it sounds good that our young people care and promote inclusive approach. Pandit Bhagat Lal, Hindu Leader of Balmik Mandar Lahore, said that we are living together from thousands of years.
We practice different faiths and our beliefs, rituals and religious practices are dissimilar, but we share equal respect, coexistence, and freedom for all. Humanity this is our identity and we should not lose it at any cost. Younas Waryam founder of the Christian Media Service while appreciating Bargad said that "Eid for All" is great idea. All types of festivities must have this approach of inviting people from other religions as well. It will help making a peaceful Pakistan, he added.
Nadeem Kasana working with various media groups appreciated the festivity and thanked to Bargad team for organizing this inter-faith event at the prestigious occasion of Eid. In the end Usman Akhter from Team Bargad, shared that Bargad has a tradition of organizing such types of events that promote peace, harmony, equal citizenship and coexistence in society. -PR
