The Lahore High Court on Friday suspended appointment of Muzaffar Shah as deputy chairman of National Database and Registration Authority and restrained him from taking part in the board's meetings. Nadra Chairman Usman Yousaf appeared before the court and assured that the court orders would be implemented.
The court adjourned to October 18 the proceedings in a petition of citizen Awais-ur-Rehman challenging the appointment of respondent Muzaffar Shah. The Chief Justice raised a question that how deputy chairman Nadra Muzaffar Shah was appointed when there was no such office with the authority. The CJ directed the Nadra's top authorities to ensure implementation of court orders regarding his appointment.
