A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Division led by its president, Firdous Shamim Naqvi called on Governor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair, at the Governor House here on Saturday. This was part of the consultative sessions with various political parties and stakeholders, a statement from the Governor House here said.
It said that during the course of meeting, views were exchanged about the problems of Karachiites, steps for their solution, Karachi development package as well as its implementation. The Governor said on the occasion that difference of opinion among the political parties was the beauty of democracy. Presence of a strong opposition was necessary for improving the performance of the government.
He stated that process of consultation has been initiated to bring to forth the problems of the province and steps for their resolution. Zubair pointed out that the federal government has embarked upon uniform development in all areas of the country. He said that the federal government was already undertaking development projects worth Rs 50 billion in this metropolis. With the Karachi Package of Rs 25 billion this amount has gone up to Rs 75 billion.
