Work begins on restoration of Karachi Circular Railways
KARACHI: City administration has started implementation work on the restoration of Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) as per directives of the Supreme Court.
In this regard, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani visited all the KCR stations to inspect the condition of the tracks as well as platforms of the stations, said a statement on Monday.
He directed the Pakistan Railways to clear the bushes from the tracks and carry out the maintenance work of railway lines and get replaced the lines where it needed.
Divisional Superintendent of Pakistan Railways Arshad Salam Khattak and Deputy Commissioners of all three districts concerned also accompanied.
The Divisional Superintendent of the Pakistan Railways briefed the commissioner about the action plan for the implementation they have made to start the service of KCR to the citizens.
The restoration work should be undertaken on priority bases, h added.
