Soyameal asking prices were little changed on Europe's animal feed meal market on Thursday as a holiday in key exporter Brazil contributed to a lull after a sharp price rise the previous day. Continued strength in Chicago futures underpinned prices, but some participants were cautious on the price trend before US government crop forecasts on September 12, which could provide clues on the the size of the US soyabean harvest.
In Europe, Brazilian high-protein soyameal for September delivery was offered for sale up $1 from Wednesday at $357 a tonne CIF Rotterdam, while Argentine high-protein soyameal for September was offered $2 down at $346 a tonne CIF Rotterdam. A market closure in Brazil for the country's Independence Day holiday deprived the market of impetus, traders said. No significant trading was reported in soyameal or other meal products. Euro-denominated rapeseed meal was also offered little changed from Wednesday, with rapemeal for September delivery marked up 1 euro to 173 euros a tonne FOB lower Rhine.
