Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has sacked 26 more ghost employees from the job. A KMC statement said that the sacked employees were city wardens who had absented from the job since long. They were removed under rule IV of Sindh Local Council Servant E&D rules 1974. Action was taken against them on directives of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar.
It may be recalled here that 46 ghost employees had been removed from the jobs, months ago and total number of sacked employees from the city warden department has reached 72. Reports had it a number of ghost employees were still enjoying perks and salaries from KMC whereas the civic administration seems to be unwilling to take action against them due to alleged political affiliations.
