FPCCI has strongly condemned the statement of Anjum Nisar and Ghulam Ali of Business Panel about former CEO of TDAP S.M. Muneer. The contents of the statement are not only baseless but ridiculously misgiving. Levelling allegation of wasting of Rs 84 Billion by S.M. Muneer as CEO TDAP itself speak of the negative mindset of these elements, as entire budget of TDAP per year is only Rs 1 billion.
"S.M. Muneer worked tirelessly without any salary for three years and spent millions form his own pocket. TDAP was a corruption free during his tenure. He facilitated the businessmen throughout his stay but bureaucracy tied down his hands, as they did not implement his proposals and his resignation was in protest to this," the FPCCI said.
It is strange that the Businessmen Panel representative who have been rejected by the business community continuously for last three years are now advising government to leave TDAP at the mercy of bureaucracy. The recommendations are based against the interests of the business community to detach them completely with the affairs of TDAP, whereas involvement of business community is imperative with this important institutions.
The decline in Exports of the Country is due to multiple factors and beyond control of any single institutions. International recession, decline in international prices and demand, energy shortages and high or cost of doing business its in the Country, unpaid refund claims of Billions of rupees with FBR and some other factors have played a role in the export slide. The exports of India, China, Bangladesh and all competitors of Pakistan recorded a decline as well.-PR
