A seminar in memory of the founder of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi, was held at the Ichhra residence of the late scholar on Sunday. Eminent religious scholar Ahmed Javed was the main speaker at the occasion which was presided over by Secretary General JI Liaqat Baloch. Ahmed Javed, in his address, said Maulana Maudoodi was a great literary personality having numerous dimensions.
He said Maulana Maudoodi's writings would help the Muslim Ummah in steering out of its troubles and difficulties it is facing today. Ahmed Javed said Maulana Maudoodi's writings on Islam were the most comprehensive of all the writings during the last three centuries. He said Maudoodi had endeavoured to enforce the Islamic system in a systematic manner. The Muslims needed the ideas given by Maulana Maudoodi. That was why all the Islamic movement of the present era had agreed on the thoughts of the Maulana. Liaqat Baloch, in his address, lauded the services of the Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi Academy and said it was rendering laudable efforts to advance the mission of the late Maulana.
