On the directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pesco Engineer Shabir Ahmad drive against illegal use of electricity is continued throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this connection Pesco Surveillance Wapda House Teams under the supervision of Director Tahir Moeen checked different areas of Peshawar Circle.
During the checking in the areas of Pesco Daudzai sub division 210 domestic and commercial connections involved in power pilferage caught. Pending units were also found in dozens meters, resultantly departmental action has been initiated against the responsible meter readers.
During the checking tampered meters were also found which were immediately replaced and sent to Meter Laboratory for further action. Similarly Surveillance teams checked several areas of Peshawar Cantt sub division and nabbed 5 commercial and 5 domestic meters involved in power pilferage. Similarly, in the areas of Town -2 sub divisions 50 commercial & domestic connections were nabbed for illegal use of electricity.
Director, Surveillance, Pesco, Tahir Moeen has said that drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks will continue in all circles. He has warned the consumers to stop power pilferage in the larger interest of the nation, otherwise strict action will be taken against electricity stealers.
