The Karachi Port handled 141,438 tonnes of cargo comprising 94,649 tonnes of import cargo and 46,789 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 94,649 tonnes comprised of 52,178 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,995 tonnes of general cargo; 29,826 tonnes of bulk cargo: 19,000 tonnes of coal; 4,799 tonnes of rapeseeds; 6,027 tonnes of fertilizer and 9,650 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 46,789 tonnes comprised of 40,687 tonnes of containerised cargo; 552 tonnes of general cargo and 5,550 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were seven ships namely X-Press Kailash, Hansa Neuburg, MT Quetta, Stolt Sycamore, Saehan Estrella, Polaris Leader and Kiran Marmara carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. Tubul, Cosco New York, YM Efficiency, Sima Genesis, ETC Nefertari, CL Clover, Hyun Jun, SL Teal and Polaris Leader carrying containers, oil tankers, tug and vehicle respectively currently at the berths. There were five ships namely Hyundai Force, DL Clover, Alpine Minute, Hyun Jun and Bulk Paraguay carrying containers, oil tankers and DAP respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
There were two vessels MSC Marya Lara and Silver Eburna carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while seven vessels viz. Ever Divine, MT Shalamar, MT Lahore, Cylades, American Bulker, Wish Way and Pacific Dream carrying containers, oil tankers, DAP, urea, project cargo and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 49,375 tonnes includes 13,450 tonnes of palm oil; 15,010 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 1,915 tonnes of LPG and 19,000 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 41,748 tonnes includes 24,648 tonnes of condensate and 17,748 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,900 containers comprising of 1,000 containers import and 900 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There was one ship namely MV Echo Galaxy carrying chemical sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV MSC Bruxelles carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of six vessels viz. CV MSC Bruxelles, MV Nireas, MV Echo Galaxy, MT Ever Rich-6, MT Mer Babu and MT Bunga Aster currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean seeds, LPG, condensate and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eighteen ships namely MV W Pacific, MV Three Saskias, MV CTG Coball, MV Ellington, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Caspian Gas, MT North Gas, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Brizo, MT Lion-M, MT Maistros, MT Mezaira, MT Glorious, MT Margarita, MT Sovereign, MT Bahra and MT Bunga Almanda carrying containers, soyabean, phosphoric acid, chemical, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV X-Press Kailash, CV MSC Tomoko, MV Hong Xing, MV YM Miranda and MV CTG Cobalt carrying containers and chemical expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were fourteen ships namely CV CV CMA CGM Nerval, CV Safmarine Ngami, CV X-Press Kailash, CV Maersk Hartford, CV MSC Joanna, CV San Felix, CV Hugo Schulte, CV Torranto, CV APL Charleston, CV Uni Florida, CV MSC Tomoko, CV APL Miami, CV MSC Earthi and MV Da Hong Xia carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
