LONDON: European stocks fell at the open Thursday after a sharp rebound the day before as financial markets volatility persists on sharp oil price swings, trade war fears, Brexit uncertainties and Italy budget woes.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.2 percent to 7,031.49 points compared with the close Wednesday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index shed 0.3 percent to 11,216.29 points and the Paris CAC 40 slipped 0.3 percent to 4,958.89.
