The prevailing hot weather in the city is likely to continue, as the Met Office on Wednesday forecast heat waves with up to 80 percent humidity on September 28 and 29. It said that partly cloudy weather in the metropolis is expected on Thursday and Friday with a maximum temperature up to 34 degrees Celsius. In the last 24 hours, the city's temperature was 29 degrees Celsius and humidity 71 percent.
Some places in Malakand Division and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive a light rain-thunderstorm. Elsewhere in the country, the Met predicted, mainly hot and dry weather is likely to prevail. Over the past 24 hours: Hot and dry weather gripped the country with a maximum temperature in Turbat, Sibbi, Sukkur and Noorpurthal 41 degrees Celsius, each, and R Y Khan and Dadu 40, each.
