National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi on Wednesday filed a reference in accountability court against 10 accused persons over the misuse of authority and corruption by misappropriation of urea fertilizer imported by government through Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP).
According to details, the nominated accused persons have been charged for embezzlement in distribution process that was conducted by national fertilizer marketing company Ltd. thus causing loss to national exchequer to the tune of Rs 143 Million.
The accused Mushtaq Qaiser (Deputy Manager) Distribution NFML and Shaukatullah were arrested and are presently under judicial custody, one Amjad Iqbal (store in-charge) is on bail and six other accused persons are absconding. The investigating teams are conducting raids for the arrest of absconding accused persons.
