The Karachi Port handled 142,112 tonnes of cargo comprising 99,776 tonnes of import cargo and 42,336 tonnes of export cargo including 6,656 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 99,776 tonnes comprised of 40,062 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,085 tonnes of general cargo; 8,264 tonnes of bulk cargo: 000 tonnes of coal; 3,142 tonnes of rapeseeds; 5,122 tonnes of fertilizer and 49,365 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,336 tonnes comprised of 41,490 tonnes of containerised cargo; 446 tonnes of urea in bulk and 400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,656 containers comprising of 2,370 containers import and 4,286 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,046 of 20's and 648 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 14 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 889 of 20's and 684 of 40's loaded containers while 583 of 20's and 723 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely MSC Maria Laura, Cosco New York, ETC Nefertari and Bon Atlantico carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. Hansa Offenburg, Silver Eburna, American Bulker, Cylades, Hong Xun and Pacific Dream carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely Sima Genesis, YM Efficiency, Sakizya Future and CSS Integrity carrying containers, seeds and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while another ship namely Ever divine carrying containers is expected to sail on Friday. There were two vessels GC Singapore and EM Sapphire carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Thursday while seven vessels viz. MOL Eminence, APL Norway, Sabya, Libra, Torm Estrid, Maria Topic and Thassos carrying containers, mogas, seeds and coal respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 125,709 tonnes comprising 93,827 tonnes of import cargo and 31,882 tonnes of export cargo including 1,934 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 93,827 tonnes includes 52,949 tonnes of diesel oil; 13,950 tonnes of palm oil; 14,393 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 1,380 tonnes of LPG; 6,002 tonnes of chemical; 289 tonnes of project cargo and 4,864 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,882 tonnes includes 31,882 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,934 containers comprising of 256 containers import and 1,678 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday. There were four ships namely CV MSC Tomoko, MV Ellington, MT Caspian Gas and MT Glorious carrying containers, chemical, LPG and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Thursday afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV MSC Tomoko, MV Hong Xun, MV Nireas, MV YM Miranda, MV CTG Cobalt, MV Ellington, MT Caspian Gas, MT Ever Rich-6, MT Glorious and MT Bunga Alamanda currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as nineteen ships namely CV CMA CGM Nerval, MV W Pacific, MV Three Saskias, MV Necosia Pegasus, MT Maran Gas Asclepius, MT Black Pear-110, MT Epic Sardina, MT North Gas, MT Maria-III, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Brizo, MT Lion-M, MT Maistros, MT Mezaira, MT Margarita, MT Sovereign, MT Bahra, MT Maritime Vanessa and MT Chemroad Haya carrying containers, soyabean seeds, rapeseeds, LNG, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Verval, MT Maran Gas Asclepius and MT Pavino Spirit carrying containers, LNG and furnace oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were fifteen ships namely CV CV APL Norway, CV Safmarine Ngami, CV San Francisco, CV MSC Joanna, CV Torranto, CV APL Charleston, CV Uni Florida, CV APL Miami, CV MSC Earthi, CV Express Black Sea, CV Lonathan Swift, MV Da Hong Xia, MV Ilaf, MT Al Jassasiya and MT Gaslog Greece carrying containers, general cargo, coal and LNG respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There are three ships namely CV San Felix, CV Hugo Schulte and MT Totonno carrying containers and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
