The Supreme Court on Friday provided relief to job aspirants by issuing directives to all the federal and provincial government ministries, departments and divisions to pay 50 percent of the fee of National Testing Service (NTS) from their own budget. Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar issued these directives while taking notice on an application of a university student who stated that for each job vacancy, they pay a fee which is too heavy for an unemployed person.
Calling immediate attention of the Chief Justice for remedy in the matter, the student said that applying for a job through NTS had become a financial burden, which many individuals could not even afford on daily basis but they had to forego in applying for many positions. The Chief Justice directed all ministries, divisions and authorities to make arrangements and ensure that 50 percent of the fee payable to testing agencies was paid by them out of their own budget to save the unemployed citizens from financial burden.
Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar directed to the concerned authorities to strictly observe the PPRA Rules while hiring services of testing agency, adding that minimum rates of fee through open bidding should be ensured. Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar sought implementation report in the matter from secretary Establishment Division, Government of Pakistan, within two months whereas all provincials governments have also been directed to take required steps to provide maximum relief to job aspirants and submit a detailed report within six weeks.
