Deputy Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, has said that the message of the martyrdom of Imam Husain was to lay down one's life instead of surrendering to the forces of falsehood. He said that the need of the hour was to follow the golden example of Imam Husain in order to defeat the prevailing system of evil. He said that a system based on injustice and oppression was continuing in the world while humanity was in search of truth, peace and tranquillity.
He said that life had been made miserable for the Muslims and millions of Muslims in Burma, Kashmir and Palestine had been put to death. He said this was the system of tyranny and injustice against which Imam Husain had risen and offered the lives of his kith and kin. However, he said, that the scores of Muslim rulers devoid of any sense of national honour and dignity were silent over the bloodletting of the fellow Muslims.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that in the true Islamic system, a ruler thought himself answerable to the people. However, he said, the present Muslim rulers believed that they were answerable to the US.
That was why, the Muslim world, the UN and the world bodies were totally indifferent to the killing in the Muslim states.
