The operations were carried out by Punjab Rangers in coordination with other law enforcement agencies on Saturday to ensure law and order in the province of Punjab. At least twenty-seven suspects were apprehended in joint raids in different cities of the province, according to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
Extensive intelligence based operations (IBOs) were carried out in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Multan, DG Khan, Lahore, Sialkot, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan, which led to the arrest of 27 suspects, said the military's media wing. A cache of illegal weapons was recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects, the statement added.
The statement further said that the paramilitary troops in coordination with other law enforcement agencies are maintaining law and order situation in Punjab.
Rangers along with police carried out patrolling and flag marches in important areas of the major cities and Quick Reaction Forces have also been put on high alert near the sensitive areas, it added.
Meanwhile, Quick Reaction Forces have also been deployed near sensitive areas.
