The three story building of Qasr-e-Behbood, which has been completed at the cost of Rs.150 million, for the welfare and economic empowerment of women is handed over to the Social Welfare Department for initiating different trade courses for the training of women.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and MPA Sh. Ejaz Ahmad visited the newly constructed building of Qasr-e-Behbood and checked the construction quality of different sections. Deputy Director Social Welfare Ch. Ashraf, Incharge Qasr-e-Behbood Khalida Rafique, XEN Building Tahir Anjum and notables of the area were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner expressed his satisfaction over the workmanship of Qasr-e-Behbood building and said that it could be made more comfortable and comprehensive as per the requirements of the future needs. He stressed upon arranging all facilities including recruitment of Instructors and other staff, provision of necessary equipments and instruments and said that the departmental work should be completed swiftly in this regard so that the training courses could be started without further delay.
MPA Sh. Ejaz Ahmad termed the Qasr-e-Behbood a great developmental gift from CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that this was a chain of measures being taken for the development and rehabilitation of women by the Punjab govt.
He informed that the women would be imparted with skills of different trades free of cost and monthly stipend would also be arranged for the deserving poor ladies. He said that Qasr-e-Behbood would help in making socio economic empowerment of women through skill development and opportunities of self employment would also be created. He advised the management of Qasr-e-Behbood for providing quality training in market oriented trades. He said that a fabulous function would be arranged very soon for the formal inauguration of Qasr-e-Behbood.
Incharge Qasr-e-Behbood Khalida Rafique informed that the facilities of training courses of 16 different vocational trades would be provided to the women in first phase.
