The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is organizing its 5th Achievement Awards this year in order to honor the individuals and businessmen who have made outstanding contribution towards promotion of Pakistani exports during the year 2016. This is indeed a commendable feat which not only recognizes the achievements of Pakistani individuals and businessmen but also inculcates in them a sense of competition to attain excellence in future and encourages them to continue their efforts.
The present Government is working on a multi-pronged strategy to broaden the existing industrial base of Pakistan and produce superior quality products which can make their mark in the international market. The aim is to diversify the product base markets through business research, improvement in business skills, versatile marketing plans and innovation in business practices.
The modernization and up-gradation of industry is a process of building market through training, learning and consultation, therefore, the present Government is emphasizing the importance of research at the public as well as private level. The revival of Pakistan's economy hinges on the performance of its industrial sector. Industry in Pakistan has a great potential of expansion because of availability of raw materials, skilled labor and the availability of indigenous investment on the country.
We are pursuing comprehensive and well connected policies such as facilitation of small and medium enterprises, establishment of Special Economic Zones and Export Processing Zones, enhancing technical education, creation of Industrial Parks etc, which will certainly help in the expansion and modernization of industry in Pakistan. I heartily congratulate all 5th FPCCI Achievement award winners on their excellent performance and look forward to their continued success in the future.
