A parliamentary panel on Wednesday appreciated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for organising cricket matches at the level of World XI which has opened the doors for the revival of cricket and other sports activities in Pakistan. A meeting of the Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination was held at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan to discuss the affairs of Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Federation and its future programmes.
The chairman of Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Federation briefed the committee about the aims objectives and achievements of the Federation. He told the committee that at present the Pakistani players got 11 medals in international, regional and other championships. The committee asked the Federation to come up with complete working papers including their requirements and deficiencies in the next meeting so that the committee may discuss and suggest the remedial measures.
The committee suggested that the funding of the title/medal winning events should be enhanced for encouragement of the billiard and snooker players. The committee also suggested that the provincial governments and the district managements of all the four provinces should be engaged for organizing the events to mobilize the youth towards billiard and snooker.
