National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has formally filed a reference against the accused Ameer Ahmed Shah, Shahid Hussain, Humayun Khan and Naveed Akhtar (Traveling Agents), the owners of Al-Mustafa Manpower Agency Shakoor Japan at Charsadda for cheating the complainants and stripping them off their hard earned Rs 33.265 million in the Accountability Court, Peshawar.
As per detail, the accused were running a fake Travel Agency in the name of Al-Mustafa Manpower Agency Shakoor Japan at Charsadda. The accused lured general public through Radio advertisement during the Hajj and Umrah season and collected approximately Rs 3,30,000 for each Hajj/Umrah application and offered private Hajj/Umrah services. When the aspiring visa applicants reached their office at Charsadda on the promised date for collection of their visa endorsed passports, to their dismay they found the accused missing from their office depriving the dozens of applicants from their hard earned cash on one hand and an opportunity of pilgrimage on the other.
Taking cognizance of the complaints and the nature of offence, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa actively pursued the inquiry/investigation and arrested the culprits not only because of the financial nature of offence but regretfully they also victimized the innocents under the pretext of a religious ritual. It is worth mentioning here that accused were arrested by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and are now in judicial custody.
