The topmost responsibility of any government is to ensure easy public accessibility to the avenues of justice, said Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here on Friday. In a meeting with Sindh Ombudsman, Syed Ashraf Asad Malik, he also emphasized the utmost importance of addressing public grievances within the ambit of constitution.
"An impartial and legal approach has to be adopted in providing justice to the people of the country," he told the provincial ombudsman during the meeting held at Governor House. On the occasion the two discussed in detail measures being adopted for expansion of the ombudsman network across the province and as how to address difficulties being faced in setting up its offices at district level.
Syed Ashraf Asad Malik, presenting the annual report to the Governor, said with the support of provincial government an efficient mechanism is being developed to provide justice to the masses at their very door step.
"The office of ombudsman has helped strengthened check and balance system as officials and personnel are quite cautious in their public dealing," he said mentioning that vigilance on the performance of government departments has also helped people to get settled their grievances cost effectively.
Sindh Governor reiterating that sincerity of purpose must be the hallmark of the provincial institution of ombudsman said public life and property must be guarded without any distinction. Officials and public servants not ignore that expectations of masses increase manifold during democracy, he said.
