The State Minister for Textile Haji Muhammad Akram Ansari has said that the government's primary focus is provision of quality and advanced healthcare facilities to the masses and a number of revolutionary steps have been taken to strengthen health sector in the Punjab. State minister stated this while visiting Government General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammadabad, to review its performance.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani and MPA Madeha Rana also accompanied state Minister during his visit to the hospital. He went around different sections of the hospital and said that Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad was progressing swiftly and taking the burden off Allied and DHQ Hospitals. He inspected the medical, surgical, dental, orthopedic, cardiology, eye, children and other sections at OPD to review the process of medical examination of the patients. He informed that the 130 doctors and para medical staff was being recruited very soon to fill the shortage of doctors and staff.
The minister directed the hospital administration to maintain good governance in the hospital and stressed upon keeping emergency ward active around the clock. He said that the benefits of the government measures in health sector should be provided to the common patients.
Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani took notice of long queue of patients on pharmacy counter and directed that additional counter should be set up to avoid rush. He stressed upon designating an officer as Director Emergency Services to supervise the matters of emergency medical services. He asked the Medical Superintendent to provide the details of required medical machinery and other equipments and forwarding the same to the Punjab government to arrange the funds. The Deputy Commissioner said that the LCD sets should also be installed at the waiting areas of the patients besides arranging additional lights in different sections.
He said that the hospital should be decorated with the paintings bearing health theme. MPA Madeha Rana appreciated the steps taken by the CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the development and progress of the government hospitals and said that the monitoring was imperative for maintaining and raising standards and performance of the hospitals.
