Former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday vowed that his party will merge the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at any cost. Addressing a PPP workers' convention in Peshawar, the former president lashed out at the ruling party, declaring that 'these people would have sold the country if it were up to them. On the occasion, PPP senior leader, and former MNA Arbab Alamgir Khan, his wife Asma Alamgir, Senator Khanzada Khan and PPP provincial president Engr Hamayun Khan along with a large number of PPP workers were present on the occasion.
Referring to the July 28 verdict of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case, Zardari said that Nawaz Sharif keeps asking why he was removed from office. "Why did you leave the office if you are not aware of the reason behind your ouster," Zardari said. He further asserted that Nawaz Sharif left the PM House owing to 'fear of those evicting him'.
Amid chants of 'Jiye Bhutto' and 'Ek Zardari Sub Pe Bhari', Zardari also taunted PTI chairman Imran Khan. He warned the people of Pakistan to stay vigilant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and two-time ousted premier Nawaz Sharif of their political tactics.
He said that Imran Khan could not handle dengue outbreak in the province, how could he run the country. He further said that Imran Khan couldn't give a 'new Pakistan' to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, what if he becomes the premier, he added.
PTI chairman has been given the idea of becoming the prime minister whereas he is a naive cricketer, he added.
PPP co-chairman directed the party workers to ramp up efforts for victory in by-elections on NA-4 Peshawar. It is pertinent to mention here on that the by-election on NA-4 will be held on October 26. The seat was fallen vacant due to sudden demise of Gulzar Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
