The Karachi Port handled 192,139 tonnes of cargo comprising 144,254 tonnes of import cargo and 47,885 tonnes of export cargo including 8,746 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 144,254 tonnes comprised of 58,827 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,502 tonnes of general cargo; 33,965 tonnes of bulk cargo: 18,615 tonnes of coal; 4,210 tonnes of seeds; 6,650 tonnes of rock phosphate; 4,490 tonnes of palm kernel expeller and 41,960 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 47,885 tonnes comprised of 39,598 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,287 tonnes of urea and 5,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,746 containers comprising of 3,866 containers import and 4,880 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,648 of 20's and 1,108 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,054 of 20's and 503 of 40's loaded containers while 1,058 of 20's and 881 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely Alexandria Bridge, New Ark, Hyundai Brave, Al Rawdah and MT Karachi carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. CMA CGM Narmada, Al Rawdah, Wide India, Sima Genesis and YM Orchid carrying containers respectively currently at the berths. There were two ships namely Cosco Durban and Maersk Tacoma carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely Wide India and Minerva Indiana carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
There were five vessels CMA CGM Puget, Arabian Orchid, Nord Larkspur, Ocean Colossus and Seastar Empress carrying containers, mogas, urea and DAP respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while six vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, MSC Kerry, Sima Giselle, MT Shalamar, Asian Champion and AM Ocean Silver carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and DAP respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 148,378 tonnes comprising 111,993 tonnes of import cargo and 36,385 tonnes of export cargo including 3,517 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 111,993 tonnes includes 35,061 tonnes of diesel oil; 20,000 tonnes of LNG; 89 tonnes of soyabean; 25,000 tonnes of coal; 1,405 tonnes of LPG and 30,438 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 36,385 tonnes includes 36,385 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,517 containers comprising of 1,602 containers import and 1,915 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Bilbao, MT Gaslog Santiago and MT Gas Esco carrying containers, LNG and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely CV MSC Mars and CV New Ark carrying containers respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz. CV MSC Mars, CV New Ark, CV MSC Bilbao, MV Ilfa, MT Epic Sardinia, MT Gaslog Santiago, MT Gas Esco and MT Maistros currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as fourteen ships namely MV W Pacific, MV Necosia Pegasus, MV GSW Fighter, MV Sinar Kutal, MV Dracon Ocean, MV Yasailhan, MT Sea Speed, MT Black Pearl, MT Totonno Bottiglieri, MT Brizo, MT Lahore, MT Mezaira, MT Margarita and MT Bahra carrying soyabean seeds, rapeseeds, coal, chemical, LPG, furnace oil and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Maersk Denver, CV MSC Algeciras, MV Nicosia Pegasus, MV YM Miranda and MV Sinar Kutal carrying containers rapeseeds, chemical and coal expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Tuesday. There were six ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, CV CMA CGM Narmada, CV MSC Algeciras, MV Bulk Polaris, Alliance Fairfax and MT Gaslog Greece carrying containers, coal, vehicles and LNG respectively due to arrive on Tuesday. There is one ship namely CV Maersk Denver carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday.
