Karachi sizzles at 42° Celsius

Mercury continues to scorch Karachi, as Met Office on Wednesday forecast heat wave with a maximum 42 degrees Celsius for Thursday and Friday. Temperature during the day went up to 42 degrees Celsius in the city as heat wave tore at 12 nautical miles an hour while humidity shrank to 12 percent. The Met warned the city's weather is expected to remain very hot on Thursday (today).
Temperature also scorched Shaheed Benazirabad, Lasbela and Turbat with 42 degrees Celsius, each, Thatta and Sibbi 41, each and Hyderabad 40. Dir received 8 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, while weather in the country's most parts remained hot and dry. In the next 24 hours, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in the most parts of the country with a rain-thunderstorm in Gilgit-Baltistan. "Continental air is prevailing over the most part of the country," the Met said.
