National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi on Friday claimed to have arrested four persons during a raid at the residence of employees of Bureau of Curriculum in Hyderabad. The NAB Karachi officials conducted a raid at the residence of employees of Bureau of Curriculum Sindh and arrested 4 accused persons namely Pir Bux Samo, ex-Assistant Account Officer of Curriculum, his sons Mustansar and Muzaffar and his brother Prince Ali. This gang was operated by Mushtaq Shaikh, ex-District Accounts Officer who was already arrested by NAB and facing trial at an Accountability Court.
Pir Bux Samo was charged for preparing bogus bills and got them approved from District Accounts Office Hyderabad during Mushtaq Shaikh's tenure that worth Rs 400 million. He embezzled it for his personal benefit and also transferred money in the personal accounts of his sons Mustansar and Muzaffar and brother Prince Ali to benefit them also.
The NAB officials recovered cheque books, bank account details, 5 vehicles and property documents from the residences of the accused persons. Search operation is being carried out at the pointation of the arrested accused persons. They will be produced before Accountability Court at Hyderabad today for physical remand into NAB custody.
