The Karachi Port handled 245,128 tonnes of cargo comprising 211,276 tonnes of import cargo and 33,852 tonnes of export cargo including 1,031 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 211,276 tonnes comprised of 36,539 tonnes of containerised cargo; 16,625 tonnes of general cargo; 30,510 tonnes of fertilizer and 127,602 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,852 tonnes comprised of 23,049 tonnes of containerised cargo; 809 tonnes of general cargo; 7,594 tonnes of urea and 2,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 1,031 containers comprising of 877 containers import and 154 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 333 of 20's and 272 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 46 of 20's and 54 of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were twelve ships namely Wan Hai-501, APL Austria, Al-Abdali, APL Hawaii, Prosper, Wan Hai-509, Mord Larkspur, Mariella Bottiglieri, MT Lahore, Yuhua Star, Bao Flourish and ER Maden carrying containers, oil tankers, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were nine vessels viz. X-Press Kailash, Hansa Neuburg, Hyundai Faith, Prosper, MT Lahore, Scirocco, Flagship Orchid, Navig8 Ametrine and Pacific Bright carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were three ships namely X-Press Kailash, Hansa Neuburg and Virgo carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were five vessels Sima Genesis, CMA CGM Tosca, Clemen Schulte, Alpine Mathilde and Ikan Sembak carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday while seven vessels viz. Polo, YM Cypress, Wawasan Topaz, Al-Mahboobah, Nord Chest, Darya Vishnu and Damas carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, coal and project cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 116,405 tonnes comprising 63,528 tonnes of import cargo and 52,877 tonnes of export cargo including 2,853 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 63,528 tonnes includes 21,791 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,624 tonnes of palm oil; 8,570 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 20,000 tonnes of coal; 2,400 tonnes of chemical; 2,813 tonnes of fertilizer and 1,330 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,877 tonnes includes 52,877 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,853 containers comprising of 70 containers import and 1,783 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were four ships namely CV APL Austria, CV Safmarine Ngami, MV Chemgas Nordsef and MT Mezaira carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV APL Austria, CV Safmarine Ngami, MV Thor Insuvi, MV Ocean Prefect, MV Yasa Illhan, MV W Pacific, MV Chemgas Nordsef, MT Gas Esco, MT Lady Amna, MT Mezaira and MT Ginga Marlin currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV ER France, CV MSC Meava, MV Star Ploeg, MV Kiang-22, MV Kenta, MV Wade-Al-Bustan, MV Gong Yin-1, MT White Purl, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Lion-M, MT Margarita, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Chemroad Nova and MT Genuine Galaxy carrying containers, soyabean, soyabean seeds, coke, coal, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. CV ER France, CV MSC Meava, MT Al-Sheehaniya and MT Lion-M carrying containers, LPG and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday. There were six ships namely CV CCNI Arauco, CV MSC Sussana, CV MSC Sindy, MV YM Miranda, MT Tembek and MT Al-Sheehaniya carrying containers, chemical and LNG respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are three ships namely CV CV X-Press Kailash, CV MSC Al-Guero and CV Maersk Columbus carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
