The city police registered three separate FIRs against 70 students of Quaid-e-Azam University on charges of disturbing academic activities in the university. The city police registered these cases at Secretariat police station under section 148/149,353/186,382/342,427 of Pakistan Penal Code. Out of 70 students, 38 were kept at Shahzad Town, six in Bhara Kahu and 26 in Industrial Area police stations. The students were released after seeking bail from the relevant court.
A police official said that police have arrested 38 students affiliated with Baloch Student Council, while six students affiliated with Pakhtun Student Council and 26 belong to other students groups. Meanwhile, the university was opened and classes were held on Tuesday. Heavy contingent of police were deployed at the university to avert any untoward incident. Some students also held a rally for restoration of their expelled fellows.
