The profit after tax of Engro Fertilizers has increased to Rs 6.695 billion in the nine month period ended Sep 30, 2017 as compared to Rs 2.987 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2016. The company's earning per share (basic) increased to Rs 5.01 in the period under review against Rs 4.25 in the same period last year.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Tuesday recommended interim cash dividend for the nine month period at Rs 3.00 per share ie 30 percent. This is in addition to the interim dividend already paid of Rs 2.50 per share ie 25 percent.
According to the financial results, the company's net sales increased to Rs 47.732 billion in this period against Rs 40.892 billion in the same period last year while the cost of sales increased to Rs 33.114 billion against Rs 29.450 billion. The company's profit before taxation stood at Rs 10.392 billion in this period against Rs 8.643 billion in the same period last year. On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax stood at Rs 2.593 billion with earning per share of Rs 1.94 in the three month period ended September 30, 2017 as compared to PAT of Rs 2.862 billion with EPS of Rs 2.15 in the same period in 2016.
