Due to the intervention of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, two properties of an expatriate Pakistani, worth Rs 300 million, have been recovered from illegal possession. Commissioner OPC Afzaal Bhatti while presiding over the departmental meeting, informed that Muhammad Afzal, an overseas Pakistani, settled in Boston, USA, lodged a complaint that he entered into an agreement about the sale of his Plaza and Farm House situated in Gujranwala, but the interested party instead of making full payment had illegally taken over both the properties.
The complaint was referred to District Overseas Pakistanis committee (DOPC) Gujranwala. Members of DOPC especially Adnan Chatha made strenuous efforts and got the said properties vacated with the help of local police. Owner, Muhammad Afzal has thanked the Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and OPC team for retrieving his properties. Afzaal Bhatti further told that so far thousands of complaints of Overseas Pakistanis have been redressed.
