BMA ranks amongst the oldest and top financial groups in Pakistan and is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. Having started operations in 1992, the company's flagship arm, BMA Capital Management serves as a full scale financial services intermediary. BMA Capital's core areas of business include Equities, Fixed Income, Interbank Currencies, Investment Banking, Commodities, Research, and Financial Products Distribution.
The Equities business caters to the investment and execution requirements of individual and institutional clients, foreign and domestic. Relationships are in place with most of the international broker dealers operating in Pakistan. Overall market share in secondary equities consistently exceeds 10%. Sales Traders are backed by award winning, consistent, and independent equity and economic research capability. The retail brokerage division operates through 8 branches as well as through BMA Trade, BMA's online equity trading platform.
The Fixed Income desk is active in both government and corporate debt securities. BMA is one of the very few institutions offering its expertise in fixed income securities to individual clients. Both Fixed Income and Interbank Currencies have been active market participants since 1992. BMA is also one amongst few in terms of distribution of third party investment products and mutual funds through its network.
Traditionally a leader in Investment Banking, BMA has advised on 50% of privatizations by value - these include the landmark USD 2.6 billion strategic sale of PTCL (the largest FDI in Pakistan to date) and the USD 1.6 billion privatization of KAPCO (the largest privatization in Asia at the time). The firm is active in Advisory, ECM, and DCM.
Through its 100% owned subsidiary, BMA Asset Management, BMA ventured into the fund management business in 2005 and is the pioneer of Separately Managed Accounts in Pakistan. In addition, BMA is investment advisor to the Pakistan Opportunities Fund, a USD denominated Pakistan dedicated equity fund, listed in Ireland - another unique "first" for BMA.
Over the years, the firm has won numerous awards and accolades (in both primary and secondary markets from Asiamoney, Euromoney, Financial Times, CFA Association), and has the unique distinction of being the only Pakistani firm to be recognized in the International Mergers & Acquisitions League Tables (Bloomberg, Thomson and FactSet) alongside major bulge bracket investment banks.
THINK INVESTMENTS. THINK BMA.
