Journalist assaulted

The city police on Friday registered first information report (FIR) against unknown persons for assaulting a journalist in the premises of Aabpara Police Station. According to details, some six unknown persons riding on three motorcycles intercepted journalist Ahmad Noorani's car near Zero Point Interchange while he was on his way to his residence in Islamabad from Rawalpindi.
The attackers got down from their unmarked motorcycles after chasing down the car and severely beat up Noorani and his driver with iron rods and knives after throwing out the keys from the ignition. As a result the journalist and his driver received severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital.
