The government allocated a total of Rs 1.089 billion to National History and Literary Heritage Division for the fiscal year 2017-18 out of which only Rs 109 million were given to the National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH) Division. According to the documents available with Business Recorder, only Rs 109 million were allotted to NH&LH Division whereas Rs 899.963 million have been allocated for other 12 allied departments including National Library Pakistan, Department of Archaeology and Museums Islamabad and National Book Foundation.
During the last four years, NH&LH Division has signed MoUs with seven foreign governments and organizations including Iran, Bahrain, Qatar, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Belarus and UNESCO. The MoUs have been signed on bilateral corporation between the countries, for better understanding of culture and national heritage, between national libraries of different countries and in the field of literature between National Academy of Science of Belarus and Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
