Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that PML-N is the name of an ideology and public service which has selflessly served people for last four years as change cannot be brought by hallow slogans. "It is our agenda to bring betterment in the lives of under privileged people while an independent, prosperous and strong Pakistan is our destination. PML-N has been working with great passion to attain that destination. It is due to PML-N's endeavours that Pakistan is now nearing that goal and steering the country out of whirlpool of problems," he added.
Talking to a PML-N delegation here on Sunday the CM said that PML-N is the party that made Pakistan an Atomic Power and it would also make Pakistan a strong economic power. We have implemented balanced development strategy for past four years and started numerous development projects in urban centres as well as in rural areas, he claimed.
"Some political opponents had tried to halt the voyage of progress by their sit-ins and politics of anarchy but we continued our way forward," he stated. Those who hindered the way of progress had been exposed before the public. They have tried to create new Pakistan by hollow slogans but did nothing than spreading despair among the masses, he said. The general elections of 2018 will witness victory of hard-work, uprightness, honesty and public service, he hoped.
He regretted that the slogan mongering elements have divided the nation for their vested interests at a time when unity was dire need of the hour. The corrupt former rulers who had pushed the public toward darkness had to answer about their deeds as they looted national resources callously in the name of development projects but delayed the energy projects due to which the nation suffered a lot, he added.
The CM said that the nation still can't forget mega scandals of corruption as each day of the former rulers used to dawn with a new scandal of corruption. They exploited the rights of poor's by promoting corruption, nepotism and ignoring merit, he added. PML-N government has introduced the policy of standard, merit and transparency as our development projects are the hallmark of speed, transparency and quality. He claimed that even their worst enemies could not bring any proof of corruption of a single penny in the development projects.
