Ambassador of Brazil in Pakistan Clouio Raja Gabaglia Lins has said that his country could be an attractive and big market for Pakistani businessmen. Pakistan traders and other business delegations should visit Brazil and explore maximum economic opportunities between the two countries, he said while talking to APP after a ceremony at Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) here on Sunday.
He said that Brazil enjoyed skills in research and agriculture and Pakistan could get maximum benefits from that research. Brazil is also offering opportunities of higher education to Pakistani teachers, he added.
However, he admitted that the Agriculture University of Faisalabad was also contributing a lot to the field of research.
About Brazilian people, the ambassador said that they were open-minded and hospitable. They always welcomed Pakistanis. It is unfortunate that the people of both countries did not know much about each other. There is need to enhance relations between the two countries. The Brazilian ambassador also hailed Pakistanis and stated that they were peace-loving people.
He, however, added that negative propaganda had been spread against Pakistan but he visited Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur and found good and cooperative people every where. He also said that Pakistan-Brazil Business Council (PBBC) was formed to improve economic ties between both countries.
About China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said that it was a big project and hoped that many multinational companies would come to Pakistan to be part of the project. He said that Brazil could also extend cooperation in hydro and wind energy sectors.
The ambassador also hinted at climate changes and maintained that the both countries should make coordinated efforts to deal with the issue. About visa issuance, the ambassador said that Brazil was offering visas to Pakistanis. He also stressed the need for enhancing linkages among universities of the both countries.
