Retired teachers and employees of Peshawar Public School and College (PPSC) voiced concern over suspension of pension without any specified reason and demanded of the provincial government for its immediate restoration.
Speaking at a news conference at press club on Tuesday, PPSC former principal Muhammad Jamil Khan said that the board of governance had decided to stop pension to retired employees of the institute which affected more than 50 retired employees, including teaching staff and non-teaching staff. Flanked by retired faculty staff and other employees, Jamil Khan said the PPSC is being confronted with financial constraints following the stoppage of grant by provincial government over last one and half decade. He said the unjust policies of the incumbent provincial government would further deteriorate the institute and its employees.
He asked the authorities concerned to ensure immediate release of pension. Responding to a query, the former principal said he and his colleagues many times tried to contact the Education Minister Muhammad Atif Khan and Secretary Education in this regard but they are not available.
