After successful negotiation between Clearing Agents Association and the Customs officials, import and export goods clearing activities resumed in Torkham Customs Center on Thursday, which was remained suspended for 24 hours, Torkham clearing agents said. It is to be mentioned here that the clearing process halted on Wednesday morning when the Customs officials introduced nine new conditions for exporting trading commodities while five conditions were set for importers and the officials asked the clearing agents to meet all the given requirements during clearing process.
President Clearing Agents Association, Torkham Haji Hayatullah said that they hold meeting with Deputy Collector (DC) Torkham Customs Center, Najeeb-ur-Rehman that was also attended by administration and forces officials. In the moot they conveyed their grievances to the Customs officials. It was decided that the Customs officials would revise the new conditions introduced for the import, export and the clearing activities would be restarted temporary with old procedure of clearing process.
