Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said the elements who are enemies to the country's development will have to face public wrath in the general elections of 2018. While talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N in London, on Thursday, Shahbaz said that national interest has been damaged due to the politics of falsehood, anarchy and baseless allegations.
"The country is moving from darkness to lights and this has made the opponents unnerved," he said, adding: "The politics of deceit, chaos and baseless allegations have to be curbed to move the country on the road to prosperity." According to a message received here, Shahbaz said the PML-N government has promoted a new trend of completing development projects with transparency and high-standards and the resources amounting to billions of rupees, which have been saved from the development schemes, are being utilized to provide basic amenities to the people.
He said, "It is satisfying the government has spread a network of development projects during the last four years and a large number of the people are benefiting from the mega projects. As a result of successful policies of the government, the country has taken off on the road to development and prosperity."
He said that China has made a gigantic investment of more than 60 billion dollars in Pakistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and this has opened new avenues of prosperity in the country. "CPEC is a splendid project of the prosperity of 21 crore people of Pakistan and the fruits of this historic Chinese investment have started appearing. CPEC has become a game-changer for the country which will not only benefit Pakistan but the whole region as well. That is why; other friendly countries have also desired to be included in this project," he said.
He said that zero-tolerance policy has been adopted against corruption by the government; adding that our hands are fully clean and no allegation of any corruption has been leveled. The international agencies have also acknowledged the rising trend of transparency in Pakistan, he added.
He said that PML-N government is rapidly moving towards fulfillment of promises made with the people. He said that PML-N shall fulfill the objectives of creation of Pakistan at every cost and selfless services to the people will be made till the last breath.
He said the state of Pakistan belongs to all of us and we shall have to work jointly to put it on the road to development. Selfless service to the people and bringing qualitative improvement in the lives of the indigent strata is our agenda and midnight oil has been burnt to complete this mission of public service, he added.
