Smog problem: Kaira criticizes measures against industrial units

PPP Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira has criticized the Punjab government for strict measures against industrial units to deal with the problem of smog. He said industrial units should not be closed down to deal with the problem, as it would lead to unemployment in the province. He lamented that the Punjab government was not ready to stop Orange Line Train Project or close down coal-fired power plant in Sahiwal to control smog. Instead, he said, the government has started taking action against industrial units, which is condemnable.
He said the Punjab government was behaving hostility against industrial workers by closing down industrial units.
