Leader of Opposition in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will not extend a helping hand to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif again and he must always remember the day when he refused to meet Asif Ali Zardari with a view to 'appeasing someone'. "We saved former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once for the sake of democracy but he will not be saved now in any condition," Shah said while talking to the media persons here at his chamber on Friday while reacting to Nawaz's statement that Zardari is assailing him to please "someone".
"Mian Sahab [Nawaz Sharif] must tell who he was trying to please when he refused to meet Zardari. Mian Sahab this is called Makafaat-e-Amal [punishment for wrongdoing]," Shah remarked. While explaining the PPP's stance on the prevailing crisis, the opposition leader said, "Now Nawaz Sharif, not democracy, is in danger and he must refrain from putting burden of his problems on democracy. In fact, he must save democracy from getting into any trouble."
The opposition leader said he repeatedly asked Sharif to come to the Parliament to take it into confidence but he did not pay any attention. "Now, we will not save Nawaz Sharif again on any condition," he said. He said that Nawaz should stop propagating that democracy is in danger. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said that negotiations with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are not possible just to save Nawaz Sharif.
He said that Nawaz Sharif has been "fighting shadows" for a long time, as he has been constantly claiming that conspiracies are being hatched against him. "Nawaz Sharif, despite having his party in the government in the centre and provinces, claims that someone is conspiring against him," Ahsan said this while talking to media persons here on Friday.
