The Upper House of the Parliament Friday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of Dina Wadia, the daughter of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. She passed away at her home in New York on Thursday. She was ninety-eight. The Senate offered Fateha for the departed soul and prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing the departed soul and granting strength to the bereaved family for bearing the irreparable loss.
Though Dina never lived in Pakistan, she was seen as a historic figure not only because she was the only daughter of the Founder of the Nation, but also because she was one of the few who had witnessed the bloody partition of 1947. It merits mentioning here that she is survived by her son and chairman of the Wadia Group Nusli N Wadia, daughter Diana N Wadia, and great grandsons Ness and Jeh Wadia, a spokesperson for the Wadia Group of Companies said in a statement.
