Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Tariq Bajwa has issued directives to hold first meeting of the Bank Advisor Committee in this month in Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and directed the SBP general manager in Peshawar to ensure participation of all commercial banks regional and group heads in the meeting.
The Governor SBP stated this during a meeting with a delegation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) led by its President, Zahidullah Shinwari, here on Friday.
Other members of the delegation included, SCCI Senior Vice President, Mohammad Naeem, Vice President Malik Niaz Mohammad Awan, former president Faud Ishaq, President Charsadda Chamber Sikandar Khan, Member of Executive Committee, Malik Kamran Ishaq, Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber Director Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Mazharul Haq, and Atif Rasheed.
On the occasion, SBP Executive Director, Samar Hussain, MDSP Qasim Nawaz, Director EDD Fazal Mehmood, Executive Director Shaukat Zaman, and SBP Regional Head Peshawar Asad Shah, were also present. Tariq Bajwa said the economic development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan is top priority.
SCCI chief urged the SBP governor for introduction of uniform letter of credit (LoC) policy of all the commercial banks. He said business community has faced numerous difficulties in opening bank account despite completion of all documentation. He urged the SBP to play its role in promotion of business and economic activities in rural areas of the province.
