"Role of mothers and teachers is more critical in shaping and building character and education outlook of the youngsters in the present era of rapidly changing IT landscape and mobile phone". This was stated by the speakers in Parents Day function of GIK College held at Agha Hasan Abedi Auditorium on Friday. Academia of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, parents, members of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and students participated in the gathering.
Engr Jehangir Bashar, Rector GIK Institute was the chief guest on the occasion. In the students' performance presentation of mobile phone misused in our society was so outstanding and attractive that the participants were forced to extend thundering applaud on three occasions while lauding the sagacity of the students to identify the multiple problems of the cell phone.
Engr Jehangir Bashar said that the teacher jobs is very critical, guiding the students in their journey of knowledge, determining objectives and enabling them to achieve their set goals to contribute to their families and country progress and prosperity.
Abdul Qadir Awan, Principal of the college presented progress report and continued endeavors of the college teachers. He said that the teachers were trained under the auspices of British Pathways, the result of the college remained outstanding, Zartaj Asim, a student of the college had gone to US on scholarship, students of the college won awards in science and international Kangaroo Mathematic contests and Ubaid-ur-Rehman who topped the college in SCC examination 2017, Federal Board got 998 marks out of 1050.
