Two people lost their lives and five other sustained injuries as a pickup plunges into a ravine in Umari area of Lower Dir on Thursday. According to reports, the pickup was heading to a local market when it fell into a gorge killing two people on the spot and injuring five others. Those who lost their lives were identified as father and son named as Haleem and Gul Bacha. The injured people included driver of the pickup Qadar Baash, Muhammad Anwar, Rehmat Bacha, Anwar Zada and Salma.
All the injured have been rushed to Chakdara hospital where they were reported to be out of danger. Meanwhile, including two minor brother and sister were killed in road accident in Chengai, Khyber Zakha Khel area of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Thursday. Traffic in charge Naik Amal Afridi and relatives of the deceased said that they were pushing the ill-fated trailer bearing registration no TLO-823 to start it, however during the time, the vehicle got out of control of the driver and crashed with huge stone, placed at the roadside. As a result two real brothers and sister and the driver were killed on the spot, hospital sources said.
