The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the government to control the real factors that are causing smog and pollution instead of putting responsibility on industrial sector. LCCI Acting President Zeshan Khalil in a statement on Monday said the issue of pollution cannot be tackled until and unless genuine reasons are not identified. Unfortunately, concerned departments are blaming industry for pollution but ground realities are quite different. He said deforestation, vehicles emission, adulteration in fuels, power plants, infrastructure development projects and garbage burning are multiplying pollution, he added.
