The Karachi Port handled 346,896 tonnes of cargo comprising 298,091 tonnes of import cargo and 48,805 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 298,091 tonnes comprised of 59,532 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,112 tonnes of general cargo; 95,561 tonnes of bulk cargo: 49,419 tonnes of coal; 29,969 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 16,173 tonnes of fertilizer and 133,886 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,805 tonnes comprised of 45,337 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,100 tonnes of general cargo and 2,368 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were fourteen ships namely Northern Priority, APL Japan, Prosper, Libra, Songa Calabria, Al Farahidi, Hyundai Splendor, MT Karachi, Ark Progress, Chrisopigi Lady, Glorious, Skatzoura, Yoga and Seacon-6 carrying containers, oil tankers, coal and steel respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eleven vessels viz. Cosco Durban, X-Press Makalu, Hyundai Splendor, Prosper, Libra, Songa Calabria, MT Shalamar, Penelope-L, Yoga, Heilan Brother and Chang Hang Jin Hai carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely X-Press Makalu, Western Eyed and IVS Raffles carrying containers, coal and steel respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Cosco Durban and MT Shalamar carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were five vessels Tubul, Northern Practise, Northern Dependant, Shongdong Haisheng and Cevdet-A carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz. OOCL Shanghai, MT Lahore, Houyoshi Park and Butinah carrying containers, oil tankers and rock phosphate respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 51,193 tonnes comprising 29,229 tonnes of import cargo and 21,964 tonnes of export cargo including 1,247 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 29,229 tonnes includes 4,300 tonnes of palm oil; 12,860 tonnes of canola seeds; 10,000 tonnes of coal; 340 tonnes of project cargo and 1,729 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,964 tonnes includes 21,964 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,247 containers comprising of 91 containers import and 1,156 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were two ships namely MV Calypso and MT Ashada carrying project cargo and crude oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Safmarine Nyassa, MV Calypso, MV Trade Will, MV Sakizaya Elegance, MV Ruining-2, MT Ashada and MT Malmo currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, sunflower seeds, canola seeds, coal, crude oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eighteen ships namely CV MSC Valencia, CV MSC Maria Elena, MV Trade Will, MV Majestic Sky, MV Yasa Aysen, MV Yoga, MV Magla, MT King Craft, MT Sea Speed, MT Lion-M, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Maistro, MT Mezaira, MT Leader, MT Bahra, MT Bunga Angsana, MT Maritime Lira and MT Chemroad Wing carrying containers, sunflower seeds, soyabean seeds, coal, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Valencia, CV MSC Maria Elena, MV Yoga, MV Genuine Herculos and MT Leader carrying containers, coal, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
There were seven ships namely CV MSC Sussana, CV Navos Verano, CV APL Antwerp, CV X-Press Makalu, MV Genuine Herculos, MV Thelis and MT Al Jassasiya carrying containers, chemical, coal and LNG respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are two ships namely CV CSAV Tyndall and CV Maersk Chicago carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
