KAMPALA: Uganda's coffee exports dropped by 8 percent last month from the same period last year, hurt by a poor harvest from a major growing region, the sector regulator Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) said in a report.
UCDA said in a statement Uganda shipped 350,743 60-kg bags, down from 381,636 bags exported in same month last year, attributing the drop to "lower production from the main harvest in Masaka and southwestern regions compared to last year," referring to one of the country's three major growing regions.
